We are currently on the search for Professional Contemporary Dancers, prioritising those from the Midlands, to take part in the Opening Ceremony of the Birmingham 2022 Commonwealth Games.
What we are looking for:
We are looking for professional contemporary dancers aged 18+ with a minimum of 3-years of professional experience, with an extremely high level of technique and performance quality. The choreography will take place in an outdoor stadium and require dancers to perform across unusual spaces, so performers should be comfortable with handling the demands of non-traditional stages and performance settings. You should be comfortable working at height. We are interested in performers who also have a circus, gymnastics, hip hop or parkour background, and experience in dancing for the camera. We actively encourage people from diverse backgrounds to apply.
The dates of engagement will be from 21st June – 28th July.
Salary: £34,642.40 per annum pro rata
Note: fees are paid on a monthly basis and include pay in lieu of holiday and a pension contribution. There will also be an increased fee for the final week of production.
If you are interested and would like to apply, please follow this link and choose the Featured Dancer cast group from the drop-down menu:
https://portal.birminghamceremonies.com/invite/professionalcast
You will be asked to upload the following:
- An up-to-date CV detailing your training
- A current showreel or performance link no more than 3-minutes
- A recent headshot
The deadline to apply is 5pm on 1st April. You will be notified by 4th April if your application has been successful and will be invited to attend an audition day on Saturday 9th April.
The audition will be led by the Choreographer of the Opening Ceremony, Corey Baker.
